Providing a timeline for them; giving them general information for each school in a very organized manner; helping them to understand the importance of searching for schools that meet their needs and interests, vs. just looking at "brand schools'; helping them to find schools in which they could receive merit aid; helping them with their essays, and keeping them on a timeline for that as well. All of your help made the college search process and final decision much less stressful. Having you work with our kids helped ease the tension and anxiety that can exist through this process, and put the effort and accountability on our kids, vs. us as parents, having to "push" them through it. We could then spend time focusing on the more "fun" parts of the process, like the college visits and tours, and deal with the financial aid/tuition part of things...

Lisa did a phenomenal job of helping our family with the college searches for our first two children, and we plan to have her help us with our third child as well. We started working with Lisa at the beginning of our kids' junior years. She guided us through how to start a college search, how to search for schools which meet our kids' interests and abilities vs just applying to well known or "brand name" schools. There are some many schools out there, it can be overwhelming. We have two very different students. Our first was on the AP track, very academically motivated, and our second was a good student, but more focused on activities/extracurriculars and sports. Lisa worked with both our kids to hone in on strengths, interests, what they were looking for in a college, and helped them with their essays. Bot of our kids received a good amount of merit money from the schools they ultimately chose to attend which has eased our worries as parents about being able to put three kids through college. I would highly recommend Lisa helping your family through the college search process. She helps to keep things in perspective and will help to find a great college environment in which your son or daughter can thrive.

“Lisa was such an incredible and important part in helping me through such a stressful and complicated time in my life. She was always there for me when I had random questions, needed guidance and information on schools, and paved the way for me to write supplements and essays that I am really proud of. I always looked forward to texting her after an acceptance as I knew she was there to support me. It was the personal touches like that from Lisa that really made the experience so comfortable and as easy as it could have been.”

“Not only did Lisa help make the college application process organized and stress-free, she also made it incredibly meaningful. Through workshops and brainstorming sessions, I was able to figure out what values were most important for me to show admission committees. I genuinely feel like my essays showcased who I am as a person and what I will bring to campus, which was all thanks to Lisa :)”

“Mrs. Pass is helping me navigate which schools to look at based on my interests, size of campus, demographics, and proximity to a city. She knows a lot about the application process, which schools match my academic level, and merit and scholarship opportunities. She is constantly checking in to see if we need anything and is keeping us on a timeline to make the whole process more manageable. Having done many visits and lots of research and prep during my junior year will make things easier for me in the fall when it’s time to start applying. I feel that I am way ahead of many of my peers in the college selection process.”

“We started with Lisa during my daughter's Sophomore year. Lisa helped guide her course decisions through her Senior year, as well as plan how we will tackle the chaos of Junior year with respects to test prep/testing and college visits, while timing everything around her extra curricular activities. The whole college application process has become a bit overwhelming and it is nice to have someone who keeps us on track, is a point of contact for all questions, and has even started providing college information based on my daughter’s interests so we can focus our college visits and use our time efficiently.  We love having Lisa in our corner!”

“You were very helpful with the entire process, and the constant contact between us made me feel like at the very least, there was someone involved who knew all the steps involved in getting into college, which was very reassuring.”

“Mrs. Pass was a terrific asset through the college essay process. I am beyond proud of my final product, and I wouldn’t have been able to write it without the drafts that we went through and reviewed together. My trouble was keeping the essay within the word limit colleges had, but working with Mrs. Pass helped me to be prompt with my essay and still feel like it reflected me. “

“Setting a timeline and working through the “to-do” list (resume, application questions, essay drafts) kept her focused without overwhelming her, and the process itself eliminated nagging from us, thus keeping the parent/child relationship intact. :) We also liked the chart listing each school outlining requirements, cost, and probability of acceptance. It helped set realistic goals and avoided crushing disappointment - especially when she applied to a school that was a big reach!”

“Lisa is a big believer that this is an exciting time in our child’s life and the process should not be stressful. She kept our child engaged and thanks to breaking down the to-do’s throughout the year, she was never overwhelmed. We are looking forward to working with Lisa again in a couple years when our son is ready to go through the process!”
